This group is no longer in existence, but was helpful in our efforts of trying to march in the Salute to Israel Day Parade.
LIST OF MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS
MISSION STATEMENT OF ORGANIZATION
The Greater New York Council of Gay and Lesbian Jewish Organizations brings
together Jewish groups in the tri-state region which conduct programming
targeted to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Jews and their families
and friends: to share information improve coordination of activities,
enhance the resources available to members, collaborate on shared
objectives, and strengthen members' ability to meet the needs of our
communities.
The Council promotes the interests of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transgender Jews in and with the general Jewish community, the general
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community, and the greater New York
community at large, through education, advocacy, sharing information and
raising consciousness.
The Council seeks to strengthen the Jewish identity
of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Jews, regardless of their
affiliation or lack thereof. The Council values the diversity of its
constituents, the independence of its member organizations, and the unity of
the Jewish people.
